Build and Kill Zombies: Car Parts and Garage

Last updated 2026-09-18Unofficial player article

Understand engine, fuel and support dependencies, inspect unlocked parts in Index and choose a layout you can actually assemble.

The Build and Kill Zombies car system combines parts you obtain at the garage with a layout you assemble in Build. Engines enable launch, fuel keeps the drive going and support availability affects weapon mounting. Use those dependencies to read your inventory before chasing an impressive preset.

Read the part families as a working system

The recorded vehicle categories are Engines, Fuels, Wheels, Blocks and Supports. CAR PARTS, SUPPORTS, Build and Index serve different purposes: acquiring or inspecting a part does not install it. Index shows unlocked parts and their displayed stats, while Build is where the chosen components go onto the vehicle.

Use fuel and engine checks for different questions

A missing mounted engine explains a car that will not launch. Empty fuel explains a run that started successfully and then stopped. Those symptoms need different changes. Inspect the installation before replacing the engine; inspect fuel options after a useful drive ends on empty fuel.

Small Tank and Fuel Barrel are fuel components demonstrated in beginner gameplay. Compare the items you have access to and read their displayed information. Do not assume that another player's arrangement produces the same distance on your car with different driving choices or equipment.

Inspect presets through their requirements

Car Builds includes layouts such as Fast Furious and Blue Monster and shows required parts and missing pieces. A preset is useful as an assembly target when your inventory can satisfy those requirements. Its name does not establish that it is the best vehicle for your stage or that you can use it without further purchases.

Before pursuing one, compare its missing pieces with the problem your working car has. If your present run is fuel-limited, a blueprint that mostly changes appearance may not be your best next investment. If the preset requires several unavailable pieces, preserve your functioning car while deciding whether the missing-part chase is affordable.

Keep an inventory-based upgrade shortlist

  • Use Select Category when a specific part family is needed.
  • Read Index entries before deciding what a new part contributes.
  • Check the actual installed component after mounting it in Build.
  • Keep engine and fuel changes separate from support and weapon changes.

After each run, choose one target: reliable launch, more useful driving range or better weapon mounting. Your shortlist should name an owned candidate, the component it replaces and the result you will compare. That makes the car easier to improve without confusing an acquisition goal with a layout problem.
