Build and Kill Zombies: Build Upgrade Priorities

Last updated 2026-09-18Unofficial player article

Choose between Luck, More Support and vehicle parts by identifying the next usable purchase and keeping a Cash reserve.

A Build and Kill Zombies build upgrades guide should help you choose the next usable purchase, not give every player the same shopping order. First get a functioning car; then decide whether your obstacle is driving range, equipment slots or obtaining a particular part. Spend Cash where that obstacle is actually addressed.

Choose the system before the item

A vehicle needs a mounted engine to launch and fuel to keep driving. Those working requirements come before optimizing a rolling strategy. If the car already runs, review how the last drive ended and what equipment you wanted to add. Do not label every disappointing result a need for better luck.

Match Skills to the goal they serve

More Support I / IIAdds weapon mounting slotsAn owned useful weapon has no available slot
Gold Roll INamed roll-related SkillRead the live node and prerequisites before committing Cash
Replacement vehicle partChanges the installed car after mountingThe current layout has a specific engine or fuel problem

The recorded node names include Luck I, Luck II, More Support I, More Support II and Gold Roll I. Read the live Skills menu for costs, prerequisites and the description of the node you are about to buy. A guide's suggested order cannot determine what your menu permits or what balance you can afford to spend.

Reserve Cash for the part you intend to use

Cash is shared across rolls, rolled-part purchases and Skills. Before buying a Skill, check whether the remaining balance still supports the immediate vehicle plan. Before rolling repeatedly, decide which family you need and what a useful result would look like. Select Category helps make that search more focused.

A slot expansion makes sense when you have equipment worth installing and the lack of a mount is the specific obstacle. A roll improvement is more relevant when obtaining parts is your next goal and your current car can continue earning. Fuel inspection takes priority when the car already launches and a useful run repeatedly ends on empty fuel.

Use a stop rule for optional spending

  • Name the obstacle in one sentence before opening the menu.
  • Check the cost and usable result of the proposed purchase.
  • Preserve enough Cash for the next action you already know you need.
  • Stop random rolling when the session stops serving the chosen part family.

The reserve is your own spending limit, not a hidden game requirement. Set it from the visible costs in your garage. That is more useful than copying a fixed amount from a player with a different inventory.

After a purchase, use its intended result as the check. More Support should let you use the additional mounting space; a replacement part should be installed and compared in a run; a Luck node changes the rolling system rather than repairing the car. Keep the sequence practical: solve a real obstacle, confirm the effect and then choose the next one.
